Leadership Team
Our team of staff and volunteers impact the lives of more than 4,700 plus kids and teens throughout Central Georgia each year. We are committed to providing a positive environment and creating corridors to opportunities for those who need us most.
Some of them have spent their entire careers in the Boys & Girls Clubs movement, while others have brought valuable perspectives from other organizations. Meet the dynamic team leading the BGCCG’s efforts to ensure every young person in Central Georgia has the great future they deserve.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia (BGCCG) welcomed Phillip as its President and CEO in September of 2014. He joined BGCCG after serving as Southeast Regional Director of Field Services for the American Kidney Fund (AKF) in Atlanta, Georgia from 2012 to 2014. In his role with AKF, he worked with a dedicated regional team to provide comprehensive programs of kidney health awareness, education, prevention, and resource development.
Phillip has 27 years as a Youth Development professional, having served in several leadership roles with the YMCA, including CEO with the J. Smith Young YMCA in North Carolina, as well as Vice President, Branch Executive Director and Branch Program Director with YMCA’s in Jacksonville, FL, Cincinnati, OH and Montgomery, AL. He also previously served for five-years in leadership roles (District Executive, Camp Director & District Director) with the Boys Scouts of America.
He has led volunteer boards and staff teams that have resulted in significant organizational growth in membership, philanthropy, partnerships, and community impact. In his time with BGCCG, his accomplishments have included expanding the organization’s service footprints throughout Central Georgia from 3 to 6 club sites, financial growth from $1.0M to more than $2M and serving greater than 1,400 members per year.
Phillip has a deep passion and commitment to inclusion, community service and youth development locally and regionally. He is actively involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs Georgia State Alliance, Local Girls Coordinating Council, Rotary, and the Masonic Lodge.
Phillip earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Georgia Southwestern State University (formally Georgia Southwestern College).

Public Relations and Communications Battcher Communications, LLC
As the Principal at Battcher Communications, Jeff calls on his extensive global communications leadership to counsel clients on internal and external communications.
Jeff’s relationship-driven approach to strategic communications was developed while running the global public relations departments and reporting to the CEOs at Delta Air Lines, BellSouth and Level 3 Communications. He managed integrated internal and external communications teams for major mergers and acquisitions, financial bankruptcies and crisis situations. He championed consistency across media relations, employee communications, analyst relations, investor relations, regulatory affairs and labor relations to harness maximum impact.
CEOs and Boards of Directors of Fortune 500 companies, as well as leading international public relations, advertising, and marketing firms regularly consult with Jeff. The leadership of Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, The United Nations, Dow Jones, Amazon, Ring, Citrix, HTC and DISH Network all have benefited from Jeff’s counsel. He specializes in media training, message development, financial communications and executive visibility programs, including interviews with top global print and TV networks.
Jeff is also the co founder and president of AIM Sports Reputation Management. Along with Super Bowl champion and college football head football coach Bill Curry, AIM is an Atlanta based agency providing sports industry clients throughout the world with public relations services, crisis preparedness, and crisis communications advice.
A native of Macon, Georgia, Jeff attended the University of Utah on a football scholarship, where he lettered in football and baseball. He later went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Communications from Mercer University and a Executive MBA in Finance from Georgia State University.
Reinforcing his unwavering commitment to enriching his community, he currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Otis Redding Foundation, Depaul USA, Boys and Girls Clubs, Middle Georgia Community Food Bank, and the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings at Mercer University. He is also a member of the Macon Sports Hall of Fame and its Board of Directors, the Macon-Bibb County Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, a Trustee for the United Way of Central Georgia and Piedmont Hospital Macon, and a Commissioner for the Famvin Global Homeless Alliance.
