Before your teenage driver gets behind the wheel, safety comes first. The Central Georgia Boys and Girls Club is offering a teen driving safety course in Forsyth to teach kids how to practice safe driving. The course is designed to help teens learn basic traffic laws and the risks of distracted driving.
The lessons are interactive. Young drivers join in groups to discuss topics and practice simulated driving through a computer. This helps them experience what it's like to drive before getting in a real car.
Kristine Steinmann with Central Georgia's Boys and Girls Club says this helps teens learn to keep themselves safe on the road, and others, too.
"Part of being a responsible citizen is understanding the risks that you take when you're driving and what responsibility you have to other drivers on the road, not to mention yourself and your passengers," says Steinmann.
Kids ages 13 to 18 can sign up for the course through the Boys and Girls Club in Forsyth.
